The Soldiers of Christ program is greatly needed for survival in a place where we’re surrounded by evil all through the day. The teaching brings joy in Christ us to make demons all around us flee.
I love Scott Kalas unconditionally. He is an excellent teacher. You have shown us that human and spiritual side of his volunteer ship. He brings the work each in every class meeting. He is consistently coming rain shine snow or bad weather. I pray that he will continue in his role. How can I donate to his prison ministry?
I've been in discipleship 101 for about one year. Having only completed three of the four books. I have learned how to trust God more and highly recommend this class to anybody looking to strengthen the relationship with God.
It is difficult to put into words Scott’s value (all that his ministries give us) to us and to an environment like this. The ripple effects are far-reaching. His passion and devotion to our Lord are on display every time he’s with us. No doubt many worthy causes you can give to my hope is you see/believe this is one.

I really appreciate the even-tempered non-histrionic approach you take in the presenting of apologetics to use here @ Sheridan Correctional Center. While I appreciate all who take the time to come share “The Good News” with us, your style is easiest for me to adhere to. Many are very pushy and dramatic in their spiritual experiences and presentations. While I am still very much in my spiritual infancy, I have been timid to such displays by what I view as zealots. Your apologetics class allowed me to take an analytical view of why God’s existence makes sense, rather than appealing to my selfishness in the emotional displays of “God will save you from your horrible circumstances (prison).” Many lean on God when they are at their worst, which I understand and believe we all need. Your class has helped me to really understand and incorporate into my daily thoughts the omnipotence and omnipresence of God. For helping me get started on “a true surrender of self” to God. I am grateful. Take care got and God bless you and your family. Your work matters keep it up!
I’ve been part of Soldiers of Christ Prison Ministries from the beginning of 2016 until October 2017 participating in Malachi Dads, Inside/Out Dad’s Christian twice, and numerous discipleship classes Scott and the literature he brings to bless not only myself but also many men here at Sheridan C.C. Thank you for the gift of the ‘Reformation Study Bible!’ This has proven to be an invaluable resource, daily to begin my day by seeking God’s face in prayer. Repeatedly, it has been the source of divine wisdom, strength, and hope. On numerous occasions, it has assisted me in compiling topical studies for inquisitive believers. One of which has now has even his own ‘Reformation Study Bible!’ Again thank you for this tremendous blessing and your own personal obedience to Christ’s Great Commission.
Brother Scott presented a well organized and in-depth study several topics such as the attributes of God the Spirit-filled life, location as many as usual topics to edify and enhance the Christian scroll and walk with Christ. His ability to communicate the word of God was simplistic and clearly defined. Scott also encouraged participation from the group and answered any questions he could with great humility and the love of Christ.
The curriculum was great. I like Jerry Bridges as an author, very easy reading with a lot of Bible references, which is great. The instructor Mr. Kalas details was very knowledgeable and very informative. If he doesn’t have an answer he’ll find it. Compassion from Scott is genuine. I really recommend the course.

About “Inside Out Dads” class to me, I as a dad needs hope for a better life ahead. I truly believe you, Scott. Being on the outside looking in can give us the hope needed. Soldiers of Christ Prison Ministries’ discipleship program has made a big difference in my spiritual life. Through this ministry, I have come to know our Savior, Jesus Christ. I’ve enjoyed and learned a great deal from the 13 studies I have completed in the past two years. Scott Kalas and his ministries prove camp. There is no other Bible study quite like it. The materials presented are from the known scholars. Mr. Kalas has a true passion for his calling, which is to minister to those us to discarded by society.
I would like to thank you for first and foremost sharing your concern for others no matter what the situation may be. You’ve showed us that as parents we will make mistakes in life but to do your very best to make sure your child doesn't follow the footprint of your mistakes. You showed me and the others love, care, gratification and that all things are possible through God… I thank you for sharing your life’s struggles and also listening to ours as well. I know I never really said much in class but I paid attention to everything that was said and I really looked forward to being in class every Friday. I am truly willing to take much at what I learn home to make a better family and father with my children my child…
Over the past few years, I participated in a dozen or more Soldier of Christ classes and have been greatly blessed. Scott truly loves the Lord and effectively has brought solid biblical teaching material to build mature Christians here at Dixon Correctional Center. Scott comes rain or shine and exudes a humility and transparency. He encourages us to focus on our blessings in the trustworthiness of God and His Word and not allow our real difficulties to overshadow our lives. We thank God for his valued ministry.
I have attended Scott’s classes since March 2015 and I can’t begin to tell you I have grown because of the lessons he brings us. He brings us lessons and books from teachers who we would probably never hear from if Scott did not expose us to their teachings. I especially enjoy the lessons he brings us from R. C. Sproul. He also goes out of his way to bring the articles on any subjects we have additional questions about. Brother Scott, I just wanted to write to you and give you thanks for this past class on doctrine. I really enjoyed it. The materials you made available I have studied and stored safely for later use. Honestly, I never got to get into CH Spurgeon or read his sermons before. Now, I’m honestly hooked now on deep theology. I remember getting a copy of “The Holiness of God” - R. C. Sproul. I’ve studied a lot of Christian literature but I feel like I finally got some meat in me and my faith in God went to new heights–– now I’m exploring R. C. Sproul, C. S. Lewis, Spurgeon, Lee Strobel, Paul Copan, etc… Then the John Newton book also help me understand the early church. I really appreciate you bringing the deep things of God to us and allowing us to understand it on our own. I am really looking forward to the apologetics class, thanks for the videos and study guides. I’m pretty stoked for this.
Scott is a strong man of God and loves to share his love with others. He is highly committed to his ministry and has a huge impact on those he teaches. I know first hand. I recommend this class to anyone seeking to improve their conscious contact with God in order to grow spiritually incorrect well-rooted behavioral defects.
Scott’s capability as an instructor is right on. He takes time to answer the questions we may have and make sure we have a clear understanding of the topic at hand. His knowledge of the word and how he breaks it down makes it possible for anyone to have a full understanding of what God’s will for us is. I will definitely attend another one of his classes.
